The Filii Ignis Orbis, translated from Latin as ‘Children Of The Fire Orb’, (better known as the Orb Children) are an extremely rare and powerful race in the FanFiction world of the Twilight Saga by TrueTigress. They were unknown to most until the Orb Of Fire was found by Isabella Cullen and given to Renesmee as a gift from the witches as a wedding present, and she conceived two Filii Ignis Orbis.

Physical Characteristics

They are a creature that can be created from any two creatures having intercourse within 10m of the orbs magic. They resemble humans but are a lot stronger, faster and durable. They always have the eye colour from their mother and mature at ten years of age until they will look around 18 human years old. It is clear from early on that the children of the fire orb have a dangerous connection to fire and they will have the power to manipulate that element.

Reaction to Sunlight:

Due to the orb children been made from the magic of fire, the sun essentially makes them stronger as they can connect with the sun as it is essentially a fire orb like the one they are born of. Saying this, they also are physically strengthened on a very starry night when multiple stars or ‘fire orbs’ are visible.

Beauty:

The orb children are very beautiful, possibly more so than vampires and dhampirs as they have an ‘inner glow’ due to their heritage of the fire orb that gives them not only great strength, but great beauty.

Pallor:

The orb children constantly appear flushed due to their intense heat which is hotter than either a dhampirs or shapeshifter, though they generally inherit their parent’s skin tone.

Diet:

Orb children eat like any normal witch or human. They survive on this food, though they have a preference for food to be over cooked or burned which is due to their heritage of the orb.

Sleep:

They are able to sleep, from birth onwards, though they sleep less than a regular human even from birth. They survive off 2-4 hours’ sleep a night as that is all they need.

Eye Colour:

The eyes of orb children are always a mixture of red and orange and the colours move about like flames.

Fluids:

The orb children are born much like human babies, that includes all human functions with their own blood and a beating heart. These human fluids stay the same even at full maturity but the magic with in them makes them stop aging after ten years. At this point the child will be physically the age of an older teen to a young adult.

Physical Change:

They are born after two months in the mother’s womb. They grow at a moderate rate, a lot faster than a human rate due to the magic from the fire orb. They reach full maturity at the age of ten years old. At this point they will from the age of an older teen to a young adult. Before this point any human change can happen, they may be born with blonde hair and it may become darker by the time they are matured, their hair and fingernails can grow and they grow taller and go through puberty. They can sleep, before and after maturity, though it is not needed in great moderation for survival. Their skin is soft and warm as a child, as they grow their skin hardens and grows hotter.

Abilities and Limitations:

Much like other supernatural children they are born with abilities that exceed regular humans, as a child, they have advanced mental intelligence; their minds are far more advanced than their bodies. Orb Children at full maturity can run as fast as dhampirs and werewolves, and they are also almost as strong as a dhampires though not exactly. They are vulnerable as children and can be hurt but the older they are and the harder their skin becomes the more indestructible they become. The older they are the faster and stronger they become, they can even.

Immortality:

Orb children can be hurt at birth as they resemble a human child; the older they get the harder it is to hurt them on the outside. They cannot be burned as this would only strengthen them, the only way to properly kill a child of the orb would be to use the orb against them or use a witch to kill them. They will live forever if they are lucky.

Supernatural Abilities:

All children of the orb have the same ability, to manifest fire and control that element.

Creation Process:

For a Orb child to be created the parents must be heterosexual. The parents can be any species as long as a man and a woman make love within 10 meters of the orb of fire, the magic will make the man impregnate the woman with a Filii Ignis Orbis.

The children were created many eons ago, around 5000 years ago when a witch named Adriana was hit by a flying orb that had fallen from the sky. The orb was beautiful, red and orange and glowing, but when her parents went to see their daughter she had died.

The parents transferred her consciousness into the orb so that she could live forever within the womb of the earth and help people bear many children.

As Adriana’s power was fire, the orb was names the ‘fire orb’ and to this day it has great and mystical powers, some known and others unknown. When the orb is in danger, it will begin to glow rapidly and it will save the children that it created, healing them also.

The children of the orb are seen as a great blessing by witches showing that life can still be kept even though it is truly gone. The orb had a magical property among the witches and it is highly worshiped but went missing almost a thousand years before it was found and gifted to Renesmee as a wedding present, it’s powers almost forgotten.

The Orb Children can be created by the following creatures:

· Vampire

· Human

· Werewolf

· Stigram Sanguis Fillis

· Dhampir

· Shapeshifter

· Werepire

· Lycanthrope

· Witch

Any of these species can have intercourse and create a Filii Ingis Orbis if they are within ten meters of the orbs magic.
